I began this campaign with a simple message: you matter—as a voter, as a Tennessean, as a person, you matter.
First, I would like to thank and congratulate everyone who ran for our local offices this year. Win or lose, you have done your part to energize and shape the democratic process in our community. You have engaged and motivated Rutherford County’s voters and left a personal mark on its history.
To those of you who will be taking seats in our local government, I would like to offer special congratulations and my personal encouragement: the voters of this community have entrusted you with a unique responsibility and we will support you fully in the execution of your duties.
To our party’s three magnificent candidates for Tennessee’s 4th Congressional District: you, perhaps more than anyone else, have excited the us and held up the banner of our values for the people of Tennessee. Whichever of you represents us in November, I know that we will be in good hands. The party and I are wholly behind you: now go flip that seat!
Finally, I would like to thank everyone who has supported our campaign to this point. We have met many fantastic people who have us given so much; I am grateful to you all. However, we need your support now more than ever. The next three months will be one of the most exciting and eventful times of our lives. We will remain focused on our objectives and the values that we represent, but we will need you at every step of the march towards November.
This race poses a real opportunity to move Tennessee in a more responsible, civil, and compassionate direction. It is an opportunity to make a statement about what voters expect from their representatives. It is an opportunity to do real good for our families, our neighbors, and ourselves. It is an opportunity for everyone.
I began this campaign with a simple message: you matter—as a voter, as a Tennessean, as a person, you matter. It has evolved into a verdant communal effort to affect real change and assert the fundamental belief that we are better together. I am honored to play a role in the re-invigoration of those ideals in our community and hopeful for what our efforts might bring.
Thank you all for your kindness and your support,
